New Hungry Root Commercial

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of working with Quirk Creative, a production company in New York City, as the food stylist for a Hungry Root commercial. We had a great couple days in a beautiful house in Brooklyn. I really like working on location - it’s a lot of logistics and creative problem solving, and I imagine it’s similar to cooking while camping. (I don’t camp.) I usually work on folding tables, with a double electric burner that’s plugged in somewhere. Maybe a bus tub with some water is my “sink”, and a giant cooler is my “fridge”. On this shoot, I was set up in the basement, but sometimes I’m in the garage, of outside under a pop tent, or in the pool house kitchenette - it all depends on the house!

We had a mix of plated food scenes and scenes with talent interacting with the food, including a very cute little boy who (finally!) took a bite of his cheeseburger. I love how the spot turned out.
